Every ReSkate update from v1.0.0 to v1.1.3: per-version changes, pinned game build record, and how the launcher self-updates.
ReSkate Update History and Version Changelog Tracker
The newest ReSkate release is v1.1.3, published 2026-10-06 — the 14th tag in five days since the project went open source on 2026-10-02. The pinned Steam game build is still 25414733 and has never changed, so if something broke right after an update, the cause is almost always a ReSkate version mismatch or an outdated mod, not the game itself. Start with the table below, then jump to the mod compatibility guide if a mod is involved.

Newest Release at a Glance (as of v1.1.3, 2026-10-06)
| Fact | Value (with as-of) |
|---|---|
| Latest tag | v1.1.3, 2026-10-06T04:43Z (GitHub Releases API, checked 2026-10-07) |
| Total tags since launch | 14 (v1.0.0 through v1.0.9, then v1.1.0 through v1.1.3) |
| Release entries on the Releases page | 13 — v1.0.1 has a git tag but no Release entry, so link it by tag, not by release |
| Pinned Steam game build | 25414733, unchanged from v1.0.0 through v1.1.3 |
| Project license | GPL-3.0, covering ReSkate's own code (third-party libraries, fonts, emoji, game images, and skate. content are excluded) |
| Only download source | The official GitHub Releases page — never a mirror |
One caveat: the GitHub API returns an empty release body for every tag, so there is no official changelog text to quote. Entries for v1.0.0–v1.1.1 follow the community reconstruction in the skatemods launch post and install guide (as of v1.1.1, 2026-10-05); v1.1.2 and v1.1.3 are summarized from tag-to-tag commit diffs and labeled as such.
Full Timeline: v1.0.0 to v1.1.3
The project team Dingo-Shenanigans created its GitHub organization on 2026-09-10, modded footage surfaced around 2026-09-21/26, and the code went public on the morning of 2026-10-02 with v1.0.0 following at noon the same day (community timeline, as of 2026-10-07).

| v1.1.2 | 2026-10-06T00:18Z | Commit-range reconstruction (41 commits vs v1.1.1): music covers, map pool plus rotation, server private messages, missing-image callouts, fake-shop item exclusion, outfit slot tolerance, merged-material fixes, offline pause menu fix |

If you are troubleshooting, the three rows that matter most are 1.0.4 (mod error messages and Proton Steam detection), 1.0.8 (native Linux server), and 1.1.0 (old board and map mods crashing — issue #46, fixed by reinstalling them from MY MODS). The full crash checklist lives on ReSkate Errors and Crash Fixes.
This project shipped 14 tags in its first five days. Always compare the table above against the newest tag on the Releases page before acting on it — if a newer version exists, assume details below it may already be stale.
Pinned Game Build Record (as of v1.1.3, 2026-10-06)
ReSkate targets exactly one Steam build of skate. at a time, pinned in source at Engine/Game/Build/supported_build.h:
| Pinned value | Source file detail |
|---|---|
| Steam build ID | 25414733 |
| App / depot / manifest | App 3354750, depot 3354751, manifest 4621099302092747785 |
| Game file hash | SHA-256 recorded in the same header |
| Content cache | ReSkateCache releases asset for build 25414733 |
From v1.0.0 through v1.1.3 the pinned build never changed, EA pushed no new Steam build, and the launcher restores the supported build whenever Steam drifts past it. So there is no real build-break incident to report yet. When EA ships a new Steam build, your Steam install updates as usual, the launcher installs the supported build back, and outdated mods are skipped by name. Details are on the mod compatibility page.
How Launcher and Server Updates Work
The launcher self-updates first on every run — simply starting it is the update path. Downloads come only from the official Releases page as ReSkate-<version>.zip. First-time setup is covered in the ReSkate install guide.
Dedicated servers have their own rhythm, and it differs by platform:
- Windows server: checks for updates about every half hour and self-updates when empty.
auto_updatedefaults to true; pass--no-updateto turn it off. Players and servers must run the same ReSkate version, so update both sides together. - Linux server: has no self-update — upgrades are done by swapping folders. It also needs a locally installed
curlfor global bans, and world-layer exports should be produced on Windows (Linux hits a Windows-only decompression path) then copied over asworld-layers.json. Full steps are on the Linux server deployment page.
Because player and server versions must match, server hosts should read this changelog before every update: a client that updated to v1.1.x cannot play on a server still running v1.0.x, and the failure looks like a connection problem rather than a version message.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which version I am running?
Check the file name of the zip you downloaded (ReSkate-<version>.zip) and compare it with the newest tag on the Releases page. If they differ, you are behind — just run the launcher and let it self-update.
Do I need to update the moment a new version drops? For solo offline play, no urgency — but update before joining anyone, since players and servers must share one version. Server hosts should update promptly, because an outdated server locks out every updated client.
I updated ReSkate and now a mod is gone. Is that this page's topic? Partly. Since v1.0.4 the launcher names skipped mods at PLAY time, and since v1.1.0 old deck and map mods can crash instead (issue #46). Read the launcher message first, then follow the mod compatibility guide.
Where do I ask about a version that is not listed here? This page tracks versions through v1.1.3 (2026-10-06). Anything newer belongs to the Releases page first, and the official community hubs second.
